FAMILY PRACTICE PHYSICIAN needed for Part-time Schedule

Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Physician provides direct patient care to Progressive employees and their dependents within the scope of practice of their related Board Certification. (ie; Family Medicine ).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Patient Care:
Serves as a primary Provider of care for patients and their various health related needs. The management of acute, chronic and preventive health interventions is key in assisting individuals to achieve optimal health and wellness. Understands the fundamental concepts of optimal employee health and its related impact on productivity in the workplace. May serve as a Physician Collaborator for Nurse Practitioners delivering patient care at the same site. Other areas of focus and/or participation include, but are not limited to:

- Dedication to providing cost-effective/highest quality care and maximizing productivity without compromising the quality of each patient encounter.
- Maintains current knowledge of billing/coding guidelines and utilizes accordingly.
- Collaborates with the Health Services Professional staff (Health Services, Fitness, Wellness) to maintain effective prevention programs such as smoke cessation, ergonomics, women's health, nutrition, stress management, immunizations etc. to help minimize health care costs for Progressive.
- Works within the scope of practice and keeps current in the management of pharmaceuticals prescribed for patients.
- Participates in clinical competencies for all Provider/Physician staff. Coordinates identification of necessary competencies with Chief Medical Officer, Manager Health Services Operations and Managing Nurse Practitioner to ensure that priority areas of education are provided.

Quality Assurance:
Works closely with the Manager Health Serrvices Operations, Chief Medical Officer and Managing Nurse Practitioner regarding quality management and improvement initiatives related to all areas of Health Services. Understands the AAAHC National Accreditation standards. The primary areas of focus include risk management, peer review, clinical record documentation, HEDIS , credentialing , privileging , customer satisfaction, access, privacy and site safety. Provides reports demonstrating compliance including trends, problem resolution and follow up evaluation as appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Current unrestricted license as a Physician in the state of practice.
- Graduate of accredited Medical School or School of Osteopathic Medicine
- Board Certification in Family Practice
- Current unrestricted DEA license
- Certified in BLS, ACLS or PALS as appropriate
- Demonstrates they are in good standing with no significant complaints, convictions of a criminal offense, or adverse action reports filed against them with a local, state or national professional society, licensure board, or the National Practitioner Data Bank.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Physician in an ambulatory/outpatient health care setting.
- PC skills with a working knowledge of Lotus Notes or equivalent , Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential personal health information.

Please note the Physician will work a part-time schedule which will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 4 to 5 hours per day.

Little or no call will be required.
