Description:
Our Corporate Health Services has an opening for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with approximately 5 or more years experience working in a clinical setting. In this position you will work weekdays from approximately 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with very little to no on-call.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides on-site primary health care to company employees and their families consistent with established standards of performance and levels of customer satisfaction.
This includes:
* obtaining thorough health and medical histories;
* performing physical and developmental assessments;
* reviewing and updating immunizations per CDC guidelines,
* ordering, performing and interpreting appropriate diagnostic tests including labs and imaging;
* identifying health and medical risk factors;
* diagnosing health problems;
* prescribing, monitoring and altering medication or initiating other treatments as appropriate;
* referring patients to specialty care (physicians, dieticians, physical/occupational therapists, etc.) when necessary and following up;
* providing health education and counseling to patients; determining work status of patients;
* maintaining medical records in compliance with health care standards/documentation requirements;
* maintaining process for systematic patient follow-up to determine effectiveness of the treatment plan, reassessing and modifying plan as necessary.
Performs non-direct patient care activities that may include:
* attending and participating in departmental meetings;
* serving as a contributing member of various internal committees/councils;
* preparing health related articles for employees;
* presents competency educational lectures;
* participating in quality initiatives, mentoring, delegating and instructing department support staff on procedures to coordinate patient care;
* responding to questions on employee disability leaves of absence;
* conducting peer review audits to maintain quality standards; maintaining customer satisfaction as evidenced by survey results.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Successful completion of training program for Physician Assistants approved by the State's Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants or Master's degree Nurse Practitioner.
* Required licenses and certificates including:
- Current unrestricted DEA license
- Certified in Basic Life Support
- Demonstrated in good standing with no significant complaints, convictions or a criminal offense or adverse action reports filed with a local, state or national professional society, licensure board, or the National Practitioner Data Bank
* Recent experience in ambulatory healthcare setting preferred.
* Minimum five years clinical experience, preferably working in family medicine
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to establish priorities & work independently
* Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment. Ability to effectively mentor and provide guidance to other staff.
* Ability to maintain highly confidential information
* Good written and oral communication skills.
Please Note: We will consider candidates who want a part-time schedule. It would be either Monday through Friday four hours per day or Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
